I loved Penelope Cruz' dress and look. I also thought Kate Hudson and Nicole Kidman looked wonderful. As for the others, there weren't a lot of "horribles" but there also weren't many standouts.

Though certainly not a fashionista, I know what works for me. I'd give my thumbs up for the night to Penelope Cruz and the double thumbs down to Jennifer Morrison.

I heard it was the idea of some of the girls from Jason's season - not Jesse's. Whatever, though. We all need some summer sleaze. VH1/MTV can only have so many shows. David Good should be there as well as all of the other Jersey Shore wannabees from seasons past.

I've come to the conclusion it would have been Ed anyway. She's too afraid to step out of her comfort zone and Reid and Kiptyn's worlds and backgrounds were just too different. She's a small town girl with a lot of insecurities who chose the one she could relate to best. It's an ending with no pizazz, except maybe for her and Ed. The only good thing is Ed's personality comes across as so flat, they won't become media darlings and we won't have to watch much more of them after this week.

Jillian does seem happy and I wish her all the best with Ed, but the fire between her and Reid is undeniable. Fire alone will not sustain a relationship, but it just seems like Ed was just a safe pick and she didn't want to be the next Jason Mesnick by dropping Ed and choosing Reid.

You don't cling to someone like she clung to Reid when he returned and then say yes to spending the rest of your life with someone else the next minute. At the very least she should have demanded more time and announced her decision on ATFR. ABC might not have been happy, but she would have reached a surer decision. It might still have been Ed, who knows?

Feh, I tried to comment on the most recent post and I kept getting caught in that “you must be logged in” loop.

I still…dunno…I agree that we are not hearing his comments in context and that there’s a tremendous amount of slicing and dicing going on (I worked in “teh Industry” for many years and I know this for a fact). But I wouldn’t trust Wes at all. It’s a career opportunity for him, and while he’s been sort of upfront about that, it still doesn’t bode well for a real relationship between him and Jillian. I found something a little weird about that hometown date with everybody at the table being female and worshipping Wes - except Wes, of course. It felt off to me.

And by the way, I can’t believe I’m seriously analyzing all this! :)

I felt bad for Jesse, I liked him, and god god, who among us would not want to fall for a guy whose family owns a winery!

Kipton’s family…again, maybe editing, but Mom was a little off-putting.

Michael…I liked him and his family a lot.

The Ed of it all…I can’t say that I get it, but I think they are really into each other.

It’s a fascinating psychodrama, that’s for sure!
